recoveryisbeautiful:

There are two types of binges.
The thing these have in common is that they both result in feelings of shame, guilt, and discomfort in a person’s body. They are both ‘real’ binges because of those feelings brought on to the person and both deserve the proper support for because of the intensity of the emotions associated.
A subjective binge is the intake of normal foods in normal (sometimes even less than ‘normal’) amounts.
An objective binge is a significant amount of food or calories consumed in a short period of time.
Like I said, they both are associated with feelings of guilt, shame, secrecy, and discomfort.
Neither is more serious than the other because of the psychological affect  they have on the person.
